Ralph and I were classmates at Fremont High. We affectionately called Ralph, "Clean Hands". He told us that was the Japanese translation of his last name. "Hey Clean Hands. How you doing?" And Ralph would have the biggest grin as we began our conversations about school, our teachers or subject matter. So glad we had the opportunity to visit again at our 50th in 2006. He was a great man.
Thanks to Karen Miller Aberle, also a classmate of Dr. Ralph Mitarai, for letting us know that we have lost one of our own; a scholar and young leader. I am grateful to his wife Heidi for convincing Ralph to attend our 50th class reunion. Once there, he seemed to enjoy our company after all these years. I was looking forward to visiting with him more during our 60th reunion this October.
Ralph was my anatomy partner in medical school. He used to eat a rice ball every day while working on the cadaver. I have not seen Ralph since graduation.
I remember him well as being shy but very funny. I would love for a family member to contact me.
