I worked with Dr.  Kavanaugh years ago. I was Dr. Argenal's medical assistant, but helped out with all the doctors from time to time. Dr. K. was so funny and always told jokes. When I moved out of state,  my uncle ended up in the hospital and Dr. K. took care of him. For that I am forever grateful.  What a light he was.He loved taking care of his patients. He will be missed. Love, Ronda F.

I met Dr Kavanaugh 20 years ago. I was rushed to the ER in June 1996 and Dr Kavanaugh was "on duty" that evening. He took care of me that night. Next day I had triple by pass surgery. He was not then my regular Cardiologist. In the early 2000's I became his patient. I credit his care for keeping me alive. Funny, happy and most of all dedicated to his patients. I am not sure what to do now.

I was a Unit Secretary on the old Telemetry Unit, B4, at Mt. Diablo Hospital in Concord. One of our RN's was nicknamed Queenie. He used to call me Princess. He was my "Lord Kavanaugh"! About 3 yrs after my retirement, I came to visit my past co-workers. When he saw me, he gave me the biggest bear hug. I will miss him! Karyn Stubbs

I will forever remember Dr Kavanaugh contagious smile. He sure could light up a room with that smile. He was a Gentleman, a friend, a team player and highly respected. He was always telling a joke or teasing the nurses, cna's or his patients. We all loved him on CVPCU! He will forever be missed and be in our hearts. It's a great loss for the JMH family.

"Patrick", your smile, thoroughness, caring are all attributes of a good man, never mind a good doctor.  You walked down the hall with your quick, long gait, cup of coffee in one hand, a smile on your face and the nursing station crowd all knew it was time to get the work done.  You were one in a million. You left too soon, but the Angels are smiling now.

It's comforting to know we have an angel like Dr K up there making our families laugh as he did here on earth. His presence will forever remain in the halls of CCC as I visit there weekly. May God send comfort to his beloved children and extended family and feel in peace with the community embrace. Forever in our hearts.

I am so sadden to think that I won't be under the care of  Dr Kavanaugh. He was the best doctor that I ever had and has kept me in good health after having two bypass surgeries. He was very caring and always had a story to tell with every visit. My condolences to his family at this time of heavy hearts. He truly had a healing heart.

My husband was Dr. Kavanaugh's patient for four years. We are so sad to hear of his passing. I hope his family finds comfort in the many lives he touched. He will be greatly missed.
