David R. Sweat

This memorial website was created in memory of David R. Sweat.  He got his angel wings on Aug. 9 at 3:45am.

David worked for The Kroger Company for 20 years.  He didn't know a stranger.
He he loved his Amy.  They celebrated their 12th anniversary this past June.
He loved his children - Chris, Thomas and Gibson.  He loved Chris' wife Bree.
He loved his sister and brother, Doris and Art.
He wished his only grandchild wasn't so far away (Oregon) but loved him dearly.
He loved his best friend of 20 years, Walter Whitehurst.  They were brothers.

David was a member of St Francis Episcopal Church.  He was wrapped in their love through this journey.

He fought hard since his diagnosis March 4.  He went home to God gently and at peace. We will love him and miss him until we see him again in Heaven.

I will always remember him being Santa Claus at the North Avenue Kroger and his favorite thing to say at work...."I just love my job!"
Rest in peace David

My heart hurts. David and I were friends since High School. He was kind and giving. I loved him like a brother and I love Amy like a sister.  He fought hard as long as he could.  He loved Amy and his family so much. To be allowed to be with him and Amy as they made this journey and as he crossed over into Heaven was a gift I will always treasure.  He was at peace as he went home to God.

To David's Family,

I am so heartbroken to hear of David's passing.  I had no idea he was sick.  David and I worked together at Kroger on North Ave many years ago and we became fast friends.  He was the most genuine and nicest person.  I am so sorry for your loss.  He will definitely be missed.
