This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, David Fahey, 70, born in 1946 and passed away on July 20th, 2016. We will love and cherish him forever.
Born in Seattle Washington and raised in Barstow California, David Fahey died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. He discovered and fell in love with Alameda while in the Coast Guard and had been a resident since 1964.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Fahey, his son Eric Fahey, his daughter Erin McDevitt (David), and his sisters Kathryn Fahey and Virginia Tolliver.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
David loved music of all kinds, especially jazz, and riding his recumbent trike on the streets and trails in the bay area. His goal was to complete the Bay Trail once it was finished, but rode wherever and whenever he could. He also loved auto “road trips”, especially to desert destinations. If he could work in a side trip to the mountains or ocean, that was even better. He had a wicked but gentle sense of humor that will be missed by his family and friends.
At his request, a cremation and burial at sea will be held in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
