In loving memory of our visit with the Scharmer and Boman family in 2014.
We are relatives, because Christine and Marcs Great-Grand-father, Markus Luchsinger, emigrates to the US from Mitloedi (Glarus), Switzerland. My Great-great-grandmother was his sister.
Love, Ursi

Although we only knew each other for 3 years, we shared some wonderful times. I will miss our hikes in the park, lunchtime chats and evening gatherings with friends, dinner and board games. Enjoy your next journey and we will meet again. ??

Mom, yesterday we had a fabulous Christmas dinner with dad, Miguel, Mario, Ken, Aimee, Alessandra, and Donovan. We felt your love and energy radiate through out the house. You are deeply missed but your legacy will continue in your grandbabies. They sure miss their tutu. ????Thank you for your unconditional love.

Chrissy was my camping buddy. I met her through Mario and the art world. We had a 10 yr. friendship. We shared stories about our adult children and their handicaps  & challenges. She always had time for her friends. She gave me comfort when I lost my significant other, she spent 24 hours with me after my knee surgery, she was a 100% giver. The world was a better with Chrissy. We miss you.

Chrissy you were a good friend. 24 years. Close and true. It’s so odd not to have you here. You were one of a kind and I will hold you dear. Thanks for all the love.

I’m so sorry to hear of Chris’s passing.  She was my kids (Megan & Merrick) kindergarten teacher at Pleasant Hill Elementary over 25 years ago. She was a wonderful teacher and a wonderful person. She loved her family. I was lucky to meet Mario and I bought her book about him.  I didn’t know about  the film. I will have to check it out. My heartfelt condolences goes out to her family.

When I met Chrissy, I would came to her home to be there with other friends to do energy work.  I didn't know her well, but I always felt happy in her presence. I felt the warmth and joy in her life, and in her spirit and support for Mario.
Recently she introduced me to her grandchildren and Miguel and Viri. We shared some special times together. ???

Chrissy was a beautiful light in my life and in the lives of so many people.   We shared so many wonderful times, laughing, singing, playing music, playing games and making the documentary, "Wake Up And Be Love" about her son, Mario.  I miss you Chrissy. I miss your wonderful hugs. You will always be in my heart. Thank you for everything.  I love you always.

Christine and I met my daughters first day of kindergarten. We walked in the classroom to find this joyful teacher sitting in circle with the children singing an alphabet song holding up animal pictures corresponding to the letter of the alphabet.. my daughter joined the circle and I left knowing she was in the care of a loving teacher.. Christine and I became friends pretty quickly.

I heard about Chrissy’s passing from Mario’s caretaker.  Compassionate Ken could hardly tell me of Chrissy’s death nearly two years later without crying.  Many memories are coming back to me as I remember first reading the story about Mario as Chrissy documented her journey with her son in a Contra Costa Times article announcing her new book release.  At the time, our daughter was in critical condition from a traumatic brain injury and in a coma that lasted 14 months.  After reading Chrissy’s story I gave the article to my wife and said “we should go to the book signing event”.   We met them at the Barnes and Noble book signing and invited them to go to our brain injury support group later that month.  Upon reading the book, “Raising Mario Twice,” it seemed strange we had not met before considering they lived next to the barn our daughter grew up in and other friends and relatives that knew their family as well.  Our daughter Allison may have known or seen Mario on the road he rode on in front of the barn before her own injury.

Chrissy and Mario went to Oakland to administer to Allison after her shunt surgery that had been put off due to infections.  I generally think of myself as being pretty open-minded and as I recall that day was especially challenging for me because Allison had been through so many surgeries largely due to infections and now she was in very critical condition.  Chrissy appeared as the beautiful free spirit she was or kind of a hippy that challenged my open mindedness.  She brought oil’s, stones, feathers and incense to Allison’s bedside that I’m really surprised now were even let in to the critical care ward.  I imagine the staff and doctors might have thought if her father is okay with it, we’re OK with it.  Mario kissed Allison’s toes while chanting and waving feathers over her legs likely due to me not allowing him close to her face and head.  Allison had a miraculous awakening the following morning.  She had a trach and was unable to speak but was mouthing words in a very gracious way thanking the staff and telling all the people who helped her that she loved them.  Allison had finally awaken after over a year of being in a coma to love she wanted to share as with Chrissy’s and Mario’s documentary, “Wake Up And Be Love”.  I think she would have kissed Mario had he been there because he had left his modeling picture on the wall next to her bed and she couldn’t take her eyes off of him.  The ward quickly referred to Allison as their miracle child, undoubtedly having a lasting impression on many staff members inspired from the love Chrissy and Mario awakened in Allison.  We will dearly miss Chrissy who brought a renewed faith and healing of love to our family.
