I met Mr. Smith as a freshman at YVHS back in '88. He inspired me creatively more than any other teacher. Early on I asked for an explanation after receiving a poor graded assignment. "Have you heard of Miracle Gro? You should try it" he joked. It was just the kind of wild reply that broke me out of my shell and inspired me to be creative. Bruce, you are an original and will be missed.

Five years have passed. You have never been forgotten and never will be. I love you more than ever. I met an old student of yours last December. When she found out I was your daughter she couldn’t believe it. She and all of her friends-now in their late 60’s and early 70’s all spoke so highly of you. What a beautiful experience for me. I miss you everyday. It’s you and me, all the way.
