This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Benjamin Richard Bertoldo, 81, born on December 20, 1933 and passed away on October 13, 2015. We will remember him forever.
For friends and family who live in Arizona, services will be held on November 21st at 10:30 am at St. Claire's in Surprise, AZ. There will be a reception to follow at the church following the mass. We are looking forward to hearing all the wonderful stories and memories. Food and dessert will be served.
Ben and Nancy moved to Arizona in 2004. Soon after their arrival, Ben began to make his mark on the community. He became the President of the Italian Catholic Federation at St. Claires and immeidately became a force to be known and loved. If you met him once, you felt like you were a member of his family.
There will be an additional service for the family and friends in San Jose, CA December 5th at 1:30pm at Bellarmine. The reception will follow the mass at the San Jose Scottish Rite Temple (2455 Masonic Drive, San Jose, CA 95125). Food will be catered by Greg Donnellan.
There are so many amazing moments each of you have to share and we look forard to celebrating his life as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He has left his mark in all of our hearts and will never be forgotten.
We encourage you to leave notes on this site of your favorite memories and moments you shared with Ben. Together we will celebrate him and honor the man he was to this world.

Ben was always more than willing to help his fellow man! He was a very kind and gentle person who always had a smile on his beaming face! Glad to have known him and proud to say he was a friend of mine! Surely missed but never forgotten RIP BEN!
Ben Bertoldo, always welcomed me with a warm smile and brightened my day at the office. He'd sincerely listen to my daily worries and chatter and offered support. My daughter and I would look forward to saying Hi to him at the San Jose Giant's games, and it warmed my heart when I heard he became a crossing guard:) I miss you Benny B, Thank you for always being a caring and good man.
Ben, You are going to be greatly missed. Thanks for always asking me what you can pray for and thanks specifically for the prayers on Jesuit High School. I know that when you prayed it was from the heart and that is why God always answered them. Going to miss our phone calls and the laughs we shared. I want you to know when I lost my dad, you filled that void. God Bless you my friend.
Ben Bertoldo was a wonderful man who dearly loved his family + friends and was a true Bellarmine Alumn as shown by his "Man for Others" lifestyle. The love and kindness Ben showed to me and my son Kelly (and his family) will NEVER be forgotten. Rest in peace my friend.
