Beloved Friend Anne
Anne was my beloved friend for 40 years. We first met through being counseling colleagues. Our friendship grew as we worked on other projects together including co-hosting a Reconciliation event with former Yugoslavians who brought their war with them to Boston. there’s lots more about Anne in my book at VirginiaSwain.com/new-book.
Anne Burling was one of the most interesting women I have ever met. In addition to all the qualities that have already been mentioned, she had an immense, receptive and generous heart. She was fascinated by different cultures, respecting the different nuances of the formation of each one. I loved seeing her try some samba passes in Brazil. Certainly, the sky is brighter with her arrival.

After a time we started getting together as couples. Don and Joseph were as alike as Anne and I are. It was such fun with lots of laughter.
My gratitude to Anne for her love and generosity.
Our gratitude to Don for his welcoming and caring.
We wil so miss our dear beloved friend, Anne.
Anne was a mentor to me. I had a Sustainable living program for kids w/ Rootswork a non-profit she founded in Warren, Vt. We worked on several community projects. She was an amazing person. She cared about her Mad River Valley Community in Vermont. She cared about the land and who would care for it. I learned so much working with her. She was kind, intelligent, compassionate.I'll miss her!
