This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Mark Owens, Jr. We will remember him forever.
Dean Owens was such a kind and thoughtful man, who made an effort to make all of us at San Francisco Law School feel valued and valuable. I will never forget his response to my final Contracts exam that made my day: "You reached a conclusion that contradicted the court but your analysis was so well done. I am giving you an A!".
Dean Owens was simply one of the kindest people I have ever known. He used to stand at the front desk at San Francisco Law School as students trickled in before classes started in the evening, greeting and chatting with everyone. He was such a supportive mentor to all of his students. I always enjoyed socializing with him and Barbara at school events. My condolences to the Owens family
He was one of the reasons I was able to finish. Twice I had to speak to the "Old Man" in his office, both on my second year. The first had to do with "The Incident" at Civil Procedure. "Did you see anything illegal?" he asked me. "I can tell you what I saw..." The second had to do with my deployment to Bosnia." Don't worry." he said and I graduated as planned in 99. A gentlemen, a leader.
