Sept. 29th, 1957 - June 7th, 2019
Mark I. Toothman, comforted by his loving wife, passed away on June 7, 2019 in Talent, Oregon after a short nine-week battle with cancer.
Mark was married to his high school sweetheart, Lillian (Thomas) Toothman, 42 years ago and built a beautiful life with three children whom he was very proud of. Mark was very involved in the Ashland community in which he was raised, and "recently" moved from Ashland to Talent in their ideal and perfect home seven years ago.
Mark drove tow-trucks throughout the Rogue Valley, worked as a volunteer Jackson County 5 Firefighter for many years, co-owned Mike's Muffler, worked as a Texaco manager, and J&L Welder. His passions were helping in the community around him, helping those in need, and working as a Wildland Firefighter.
Mark enjoyed Nascar, dirt track racing, camping and being outdoors, car mechanics, and everything Country and Western. However, his ultimate goal and greatest success in life was to give his family the life that he believed they deserved. He would do anything for his family and up until his death he used every bit of energy to make sure his wife would be well-cared for after his passing.
One highlight of Mark's life was when after an extensive search, Mark and family found his birth father, George McLain. Though George had preceded him in death the silver lining was that he met two sisters and a truly wonderful side of the family he was able to connect with. He also found one brother that also preceded him in death, Marvin Lawrence "Larry" Amell.
Mark is survived by many friends and family that loved him dearly and will forever hold them in their hearts, including his beautiful wife, Lillian; sons (daughter-in-laws), Josh (Eden) and Shawn (Danielle); daughter (son-in-law), Lisa Villarreal (Julen); six grandchildren, Ayla, Gwen, Jack, Justin, Brendon, and Mikel; sisters, Wanda McLain Diroll, Laura Maurice Jauregui, and Lori Toothman; and brother, Gregg Hileman. He also leaves behind his adored dogs, Mika and Henry and his chatty cat, Jasper.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents who raised him, Pearl and Irvin Wright; and Mother, Sandra Magnus.
A celebration of life will be held July 6th. Please contact Lisa for info at 541-301-9695.
