This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Marilyn Hodges, 87, born in July 1933 and passed away in June 2021. Memorial services were held Saturday, June 26th at 2:00 pm at Hillcrest Memorial, where she takes her rest.
Her memory lives within us and she is forever in our hearts.
My father, Gene Edwards, was Elsie Hodges' youngest brother - I know that the Hodges -- Dale and Don and their families -- were very dear to him. Although I didn't know Marilyn well, I recall her smile and her kindness. I hope that the beautiful memories you have of her bring you comfort at this time and in the coming years.
Here is Marilyn, one you likely know because you are here. In the moments of memory and quiet places of our hearts she will live forever and we will rejoice in a life well and fully lived, family & friends whose lives she touched, and a soul whose journey we will rejoin at a future date.
Marilyn was my best friend’s Mom. She gave me the highest of honors she gave me blessings to be her son’s friend. She treated me like a daughter and one of the family. She even allowed me in her kitchen. An utter Joy! She gave me care and love. I remember her with deep fondness. The Lord brings her Peacefully into his fold. Much love and many Blessings
I loved Marilyn's spunk. It's funny the strange moments when we "connect" with someone. For me and Marilyn it was agreeing on the abundance of butter I put on top of the bowl of Thanksgiving mashed potatoes. It was a moment of shared laughter I have never forgotten. She was tough and spunky and loved her family emensely. Our thoughts are with all of you.
Growing up Mrs. Hodges was a second Mom. She was our Girls Scout leader who took us great adventures! So grand that we made the local paper a couple times. Linda and I would blast her Mary Poppins album from the bedroom, loudly singing along, and that was fine! She was a great lady and role model. There was no one like her and she lives on in our memories. Sincerely, The Gray Family.
I worked with Marilyn for many years in the lab that was then known as RVMC laboratory. I enjoyed her laughter. She was a hard worker. We lost touch after she retired. I was sorry to hear of her passing. Condolences to the family on your loss.
