My fondest memory of Uncle Jack was the "Stinker" and his black and white skis that he built. But best of all was as a child watching Aunt Helen in her faux leopard coat and Uncle Jack twirling her around our living room, laughing and having a great time. Life to Uncle Jack was good food, family, laughter, smooching and dancing. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him.

I was so blessed to have Jack Rentz as my father.  He loved my mom, cared about his kids, enjoyed adventures, and loved to tease and laugh with everyone he came into contact with. I lived in the same town with Dad for 53 years of my life and have wonderful memories of those years.  My last words to him before hospice were "I love you, Dad!  As was his habit, he replied "I love you, Linda!"

Jack Rentz was a great Dad. I could not have asked for a better father. He was a terrific teacher, he was thoughtful, funny, supportive, helpful and lenient when appropriate. He was forgiving, rarely out and out told me what to do in my teens and older, but when I would ask him for advice or wanted to bounce things off him, he would listen and tell me his thoughts and give me insightful suggestions. He was so full of life and always seemed to have a smile and a joke almost every day. He loved to cook (but hated doing dishes). I learned a lot from him as he built and did all sorts of things, like working on rentals, building goose decoys, building and/or maintaining boats and building and maintaining docks, shops and garages. He could pretty much do any house repair project. Dad loved to fish (salmon or trout), hunt ducks and deer, which he taught us. He taught me how to swim, water ski, drive a boat and dock a boat, which lead me to loving most anything that has to do with water. He taught me so many things it’s hard to list them all. He loved to be with family and most importantly he loved my mother and was not afraid to show it or say it, which that itself is a great lesson. I could not have asked for a better and more accepting Grandfather and Great Grandfather than he was. He opened his heart and arms and accepted my children and stepchildren without a blink of an eye. He was truly a gift to our family and we were so blessed to have him for 94 years. I will forever cherish my memories of him and I already miss him so much. I love you Dad! Jim
