Mother, Music Teacher, Choir Director, mentor, mother figure, always there for you with unlimited love. I am so very grateful I had four opportunities to visit with mom since October after months of Covid separation. She touched countless lives in her life and made a huge difference in so many lives through her unconditional love.
A true Lady in every sense of the word. A true friend to all of us in Trinity Center and a major part of our church. We met in Lois’s house every single week to prepare the lunches for all the workers while the church was being built. Think of her every Sunday when the choir sings and playes the piano she donated to our church. She is with Jack now, and I am sure playing in God’s choir.
I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Vidt's passing. She helped shape the trajectory of my life. I first met her when I was in the 5th grade and she brought the Lynbrook Jazz Choir to perform at my elementary school. I knew right then that I wanted to be part of that. I am so grateful that I was able to achieve that goal. She was an incredible teacher and women. My prayers to her family.
I took over Lois choirs at Lynbrook High. They were big shoes to fill. It was my first time teaching high school. Lois mentored me and encouraged me. She made me feel so good when she said that I was absolutely perfect for the job. She was loving and kind, truthful and brave. She gave soooo much to the community. The world is a betterplace because Lois was here.
Lois and Jack and their family became dear friends to the Plumbs
We remember the astonishing piano concerts in their home, delicious meals at their table, gentle spirits, a devoted couple. We are so glad for the rainbow at the head of The Lake that confirmed for them that, yes, this was where they were going to have a home.
I have such warm memories of Mrs. Vidt. She became my role model during my years in her choirs. Many of her pedagogical methods stuck with me as I myself have pursued a career in choral conducting, and teaching choral conducting. I remember seeing her at the ACDA conference in Phoenix in, I believe, 1991, and have thought of her often through the years. She will be warmly remembered.
