Lance Bryan Roepe, passed away Dec. 23rd after a recent bout of illness. Mr. Roepe was born in New York, NY and was the only child to Elaine and Gustav Roepe. Lance was known for his wit, kindness and sense of humor. Lance is survived by close friends, including a long-time friend, John Raymer of South Bend, IN. Funeral arrangements are being decided
When I trekked to California from my post at Hoosac School on the east coast, I made it a point to include a visit to Lance. Yes, connecting with alumni was my work, but getting to know Lance these past ten years was no work at all - he was a delight. His well-read intelligence, witty sense of humor and truly kind nature made it easy to make a call and just talk. Will miss him. - Sherri
