Love you Nose!
Us girls and TJ will miss our Papa Joe until we meet again. <3
Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead & loving memories to forever hold in your heart. Uncle Joe was quick with a joke or a story. We always talk about the message he left on our wedding video calling Drew Kevin....lol even now with tears flowing I remember asking him to dance with me & without hesitation we were on the dance floor. He is forever in our hearts.
I haven’t seen you since I was a wee one - but I have one memory of going to the hamptons and riding your shoulders in the waves . Pops always said you were a great man - a protector of your siblings. Your with the angels now and you’re Family is up there was waiting for you. God bless - deepest sympathy to the CA Maffei’s - your niece Teresa Maffei
My deepest sympathy to all. Prayers to Madeline and family.

Maddy and Joe, came from such different backgrounds, but found something so vital in each other. Despite many challenges, their love endured and strengthened over the years. You meant everything to each other. Joe will be sorely missed, and I just hope I can help one of my oldest and dearest friends make it through tgus difficult transition in life.
I met Joe when i was 11 yrs old. Our family had many dinners together. I will never forget his funny jokes that he and my dad (Bill Bowers) shared. My condolences to the family.
I met Joe and Maddy working at the Fremont Social Security Office. Joe had a BIG personality that was a shining light to coworkers and members of the public, and a BIG heart for helping the aged and disabled and (later) his volunteer work with the VA. A big part of that heart was full of love for his dear Madeleine. He did a lot of good and was a great, warm, unforgettable spirit.
I will never forget how when we worked at SSA in Fremont and I was very ill, Joseph, who thereafter was my "hero", just picked me up in his big strong arms and carried me to my car and sent me home. And Bruce remembers how Joe, 20+ years his senior, lent his time & expertise to work rings around him as he helped build our deck. We were blessed and honored to have called Joe our friend.
