Joey.. It was a honor to be your Godmother, having you in my life was such a blessing. You were an inspiration to all who knew and loved you. You made this world a better place just being you. You will forever be in my heart... We love you ..
Joey, The world lost a beautiful soul that made it better. I always looked forward to when I saw you to see the big smile, receive a big hug and hear how your day was, cause it was always positive! You never missed a single time asking me how my day was, how the family was and always having a kind word and much love to give. You are going to be missed We love you and rest in piece.
Joey touched my heart in a way that I can’t even put into words. He had an infectious smile and a hug that warmed your heart. Anyone who knew Joey knew he was the king of karaoke (with a little help from his backup dancers aka Justin and Jake). Joey you will forever hold a special place in my heart and I will miss everything about you. Until we meet again my precious angel. I love you.

Joey, you were a bright light, a generous hugger, and you brought a smile to everyone you engaged with. You will continue to be an inspiration to all and you will always be in our hearts. Love you, RIP
I have no words to express the loss of Joey to our family. He loved wholeheartedly! He was the sweetest human being on this planet. He gave the best hugs, held on as long and tight as he could. I will never forget that feeling! Until we meet again, Descansa en paz primo. I love you!!!
Joey you are an inspiration. If only we could all see the world the way you did. You saw only the good in everyone and wanted to embrace everyone in your life. It's not that easy to do that. What you did so naturally we can try but probably not to the extent you did so consistently and so well. I will never forget you and when I hear "Don't Stop Believing" I will stop and think of you.

Joey was so loving, funny, filled with wonder and joy. He brought so much fun and heart to everyone. Joey was one of Nicole’s very first friends in Life Skills and through him we got to share in many things with his family. What an amazing life he created and inspired. Sending love and Huggs, Cheryl Young and Nicole B
Joey brought so much love and joy to everyone who made contact with him, especially those who are a part of the life skills program. He had such a wonderful spirit, and he shown that spirit with everything you did. I’m truly going to miss him and the fun we had.

Joey brought such positive energy into class. I know he touched the lives of anyone who got to know him. He was a big inspiration to our story in public speaking and he would always share photos of before pictures and after pictures of foods he ate. I always wonder how he could eat all of that food. There are many more memories but those are the ones that I remember the most.
Joey loved so incredibly well and so unconditional, no strings attached. My memories of his giving hugs and huge smile is such an example to live by. Thank you Joey for inspiring all of us to be better than we are and to leave such a lasting impression on us to want to do better in life. Joey and my son, James, shared many Walnut Creek Specialized Recreation programs. Joey brought joy wherever he went. He was often a leader in the group; gentle and always kind. At the Zoom meetings, he participated with enthusiasm. He was an amazing fount of information, sharing his music, and trivia fun facts with us, making the meetings enjoyable for everyone. He will be deeply missed.
Joey, you were a amazing stud & a awesome friend. I remember meeting you at Camp Harmon in 2010 & shared good friendships during good & bad times. I'll never forget you, because you were always happy & extremely helpful. Thanks for being my friend for 10 years, you'll be missed.
I knew Joey from working at Life Skills. He was truly a wonderful person, kind, fun to be around, always offering to help staff & other students. The last few years I would sometimes run into Joey at Safeway and he would always come over & give me a huge hug. I know so many people, including myself, will remember him this way—with a big smile on his face & open arms for a hug.
You were such a hilarious and compassionate soul! It was such an honor to meet you at Camp Harmon and be able to experience so many great memories with you. Camp is going to be missing some of its sunshine without you.
There are no words to express how sad and shocked we are to lose Joey. He lit up the room anytime he was around people. His amazing hugs and laugh made you smile regardless of your day. He always had a way of making you feel like the most important person when speaking with him. He was truly a wonderful person, there is no comparison. I love and miss you Primo!
Joey will truly be missed, he was such a kind and happy young man. I remember when Abrianna came home and said "I have a boyfriend named Joey" and I said here we go. Joey truly showed my daughter how a young woman should be treated. We were blessed to know him and he will remain in our hearts forever. Abrianna will always remember him.
Joey's smile lit up the room and his hugs brought warmth to my day. We shared many adventures during his time with the Spec Rec Program in WC. Joey was thoughtful, gregarious, and had the best sense of humor. I will miss our conversations at Wednesday dinners. Thank you Joey, for gracing me with memories that are treasures.
Joey was a lovely, helpful, kind man in our Life Skills Program. He was always positive and made everyone smile. I will miss him.

I’m so sorry for your loss! I went to school with Joey at Deer Valley, and he was such a good, kind hearted person. Joey always had a smile on his face and would always stop by to say hi and a ask for a fist bump. Joey was truly a star, and a friend.
