I learned a great deal from this man. I'm very proud to have called him "Dad"
Mr. John J. Kukulica was like a father to me.When I was fresh off the boat, he was there for me every step of the way. When I started college and was taking the bus for the very first time, there he was, waiting at bus stop, making sure I took the right bus. When I moved to my first apartment, he helped me move. When I graduated from college, he was at my graduation and took me out for a celebration after the ceremony. When I bought my first car, he went to help me purchase it. When I got my Master’s degree, he was at my graduation again and took me out for another celebration. When I was sick he came to visit me in hospital. When I got engaged, he was the one who first met my in-laws. When I went to visit my family in Europe, he was eager to hear my report as soon as I got back. He was there for me during every crucial moment of my life, and I always considered him my “American father. “
Mr. John J. Kukulica helped so many people in Konavle and Dubrovnik that people there will be forever grateful to him.A mass is being held in John's name this very day in the birth village of his father Kukulica, in the chapel in front of which his grandparents are buried.May dear Mr. Kukulica and my dundo John rest in eternal peace. Deepest sympathy
