I hardly knew J. but had acquaintance via his bro Jim when in the h.s years in the 80's.  He was wicked enthusiastic about music,  approachable personality (Jim could be a little tech/gear head).
    I don't even know why I didn't keep in touch with him (Jim kinda ran north to NH.  I wish I could have helped-he was quite sibling like, and hope he passed w.o pain
