Jane was the sister of my grandfather, Don Adams. Having no living grandparents by the time I was 10, Jane assumed that role in my and my siblings' lives. She cultivated her family's bonds like the gardens she cared for so much. Ever the English teacher, she knew love was also a verb, and I felt hers through New Yorker clippings, letters, and phone calls. Her life was a blessing.
Jane was my Great Aunt, and the closest thing I had to a Grandmother (mine had nearly all passed away before I was born). She was the Matriarch of out family and an incredible woman; beautiful and kind right up until the end. I'll always remember the warm conversations we had and how incredibly supportive she was of mine and my siblings' artistic endeavors. I love you, Aunt Gaga.
