We just learned of Dr. Whitefield's passing.  He delivered my son almost 22 years ago.  For me, he was the gold standard of doctors.  We were blessed to have him deliver our son.  We remember his brilliance, humor and compassion.  May his memory be a blessing.

Jan was such a lovely man. I enjoyed visiting him at church and at work.  When he left Alaska, his beautiful voice was missed. He always had a great smile and a kind word. He will be missed. Godspeed, Jan, I’m sure you’re adding to the heavenly choir!  Blessings and peace to the entire family.

Our sincere condolences to your family . I was so sad to read this ! Dr. Whitefield was my doctor and I loved how he always took time for his patients! He would hop up and sit on the table next to me and just listen and help his patients. He was truly one of a kind and I remember crying when I heard he was retiring . He laughed and said you will be fine.. may he rest in peace !!

Dr. Whitefield was my residency teacher, and my obstetrician.  He was such a kind and gentle man, an outstanding role model.  I am so sorry to hear of his passing.  He was beloved by nurses, students and patients alike.  He will be missed.
