I am so very grateful for Jim's life and for his friendship. We had many opportunities to work together on various Army and National Guard outreach projects through the years. I was always impressed with his unique perspectives of telling 'Soldier Stories' in whatever way he could. He incited commitment in all he did. Peace unto you brother; you've more than earned your spot in eternity.
We'll never be able to express with words how remarkable Jim was. Jim, was a man who enriched the lives of all who were so fortunate to have had the opportunity to know him.
We felt very blessed to have had Jim, his “love of his life”, Herta, their sons and daughters as neighbors for these past 35 years. We became neighbors after Jim, an Army Command Sergeant Major, retired after serving this country, in both Korea and Vietnam, with many distinguished honors. A man who risked his life, was injured , all while under enemy fire
to save the lives of others.
As a Christian, this hero, never spoke or felt he was owed anything for doing his duty for life and country.
This highly distinguished man, dedicated to his family, was a very loving, caring husband and father. He was also a very notable talented photographer. Many of his works were displayed in numerous prestigious magazines, and museums. We are extremely fortunate to have many of his superb works of art gracing our walls.
We'll miss our many talks and especially hearing Jim’s (no mistaking that New York City accent) asking: “ How ya doin’n”?
Our empty hearts are kept full with all of the many fond memories he left behind. It is comforting to know he is now rejoined with his son, Joseph.
Jim, was so much more then a neighbor and friend; he was a man who set a high standard for living one’s life. Jim will be so dearly missed. He’ll be forever in our hearts and thoughts. We'll miss his thoughtfulness and friendship. It was an honor to have known him. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with Herta and family.
