I worked with Jim while at Quantum/Maxtor/Seagate. His low key approach and dry sense of humor made it a joy to work alongside him. I remember many runs, in which he showed me a thing or two about how to tackle hill intervals with Craig Donnely and other collegues. He showed that greatness can be quiet and gentle and thoughtful. My deepest sympathies.
