To my wonderful mother,
I can't believe you are gone. You were the glue that held our family together, the one who always supported us when we were down and you always brought such light to all of our lives. You will be missed so much.
Helen,
We are so fortunate to have known you. You were a bright spot in our lives and are dearly loved by all who were lucky enough to know you. Thank you for all your wisdom, kindness and love. You are deeply missed.
Helen was loved as a teacher, friend, mentor and Mother when needed.Helen attended all my piano recitals and fundraisers. Her kindness and support was rare. It was a blessing to have known her and to be able to share my life with her for many years. I will miss her very much.
When I needed someone to help me prep for an important performance in 2015, I knew Helen was just the person to do that. Her guidance was absolutely amazing. After that, she was always someone who, whenever I saw her in the room, made me glad I was there. When I performed, she was a deeply perceptive cheerleader; a compliment from Helen was to be treasured. What a lovely soul.
I first met Helen at my 65th birthday party when Syl and she came down to Palo Alto. And we saw each other at the opera and symphony concerts over the years, I regret that I didn't know her when she was performing. She faced her illness with grace and such a positive attitude I thought was admirable. My deepest sympathies to all her family for your loss.
Helen, you are the most inspiring, dedicated teacher I've ever had in my life. Your piano lessons as life lessons changed my life. I still keep the notes you wrote for me, on how to practice scales and Beethoven. You will always live in my heart, music, and teaching.
Mom,
You will always stay in my heart as love is everlasting. The love you showed to family and friends is angelic. I will always miss our times together and I will cherish all the precious memories. I am so grateful for the love you gave to family and friends.
I miss you mom.
Helen was the dearest friend I have ever had. For over 40 years we shared everything together. We had a friendship that few have had a chance to experience and she will be missed everyday. The love she showed me will live in my heart forever.
Forever missed and forever loved.
In the 46 years of our friendship, Helen enriched my life in so many ways. She profoundly increased my already passionate love of music, and the depth of my understanding of its spiritual heights. As friends, we shared the deep sorrows and lofty joys that come with a life lived to the fullest. And Helen did all of that. She was a great lady, and I will miss her profoundly.
Aunt Helen had the most wonderful sense of humor, and we cherish her stories and thoughtful insights into life's struggles. She was always up for a chat, and the boys loved talking sports with her. Her passing is the end of a great generation in our family. I hope we can continue to live our lives like she wished with humor and love.
Mom, the first thing I thought of this morning was that it's your birthday. You would've been 87 today. I wanted to honor you today by posting here, and I hope you are celebrating your wings in heaven.
Helen, you mentored me in teaching piano, and have indelibly marked my path in life in the most positive ways, always! Many, many blessings and God’s healing hands are on you and your family right now! Helen, you are in the best place ever, seeing us and caring for us, just from a different place now! May all of us continue to remember you are here in our hearts! Theresa Smith
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Dearest Teacher and Friend, Helen!
Happy Mother's Day mom. I miss you so much. Hope you are enjoying your day in heaven.
Dear Helen,
I am so honored to have known someone as classy and elegant as you! It was such a pleasure to see you at one of our restaurants and our small conversations will greatly be missed.
Today marks one year since you’ve passed and I truly still can’t believe you’re gone. You were such a strong presence in my life and I miss you every single day. Thank you for sending signs and visiting me in my dreams. It isn’t the same here without you, but some day I will meet you in heaven and we can love, laugh and embrace our spirits as we were meant to.
I can’t believe it’s been two years mom. I know you are with me in spirit and it greatly comforts me. My life is not the same without you. I hope you are flying high with the angels!
It's hard to believe it's been three years since you've been on this earth. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I pray for you and I know some day we will see each other again.
It's been four years and life hasn't been the same without you. Your dear friend Judy has passed now as well and I hope you were able to reunite in heaven. Sometimes I feel you near me, giving me advice but most of the time I just miss you.
