This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Harald "Kris" Heggenhougen, 80, born on April 24th, 1940 and passed away on August 12th, 2020. He is always with us.
One of his favorite one liners was: The wounded oyster heals itself with pearl (author unknown). Let us take the pain of his passing and turn it into a pearl of love and compassion that we offer to the world and each other in his honor.
Rest in peace
Kris/Pops/Grandpa/Harald Kristian/Bro/Onkel/Prof. Heggenhougen
Kris was a worthy, a mensch. He will be sorely missed. The last time we spoke, we cried together at the sudden death of our dear friend, my late ex husband, Duncan Pedersen . They were like brothers. Kris was in his element at night discussing the world over drinks and a meal, followed by some crazy dance moves. Rest In Peace, amigo. My condolences to Anna, and the whole family.
Kris represented all that is good in this world. The moments spent with him, his humor, his compassion, his knowledge and his warmth are all permanently etched in my heart. He will be missed.
Kris my great father was a treasure , this made him a hero while alive and so he remains even in death.
I will always turn every last of the memories, the Cal phone conversations into lasting memories.
In my ?? you will always love.
Janet lives with you.
We were Kris's tenant for 5 years in Cambridge. We are deeply saddened to have learned of the passing of your beloved father. He was a great man! He was compassionate and extremely generous to us. The first time we met him we were impressed by his humility and his great sense of humor.we wish to convey our condolence to his family and friends. May he rest in peace and his soul be blessed.
Kristian, our time in Bagamoyo at your house at the beach at this small fishing village, the house with all the mosquitoes and the huge spider hanging on the wall outside. What wonderful days and weeks and months.
