Grant was my first boss when I arrived at Reynolds in 1965. That was in the Alloy Development Section of the Metallurgical Department. But he was only my immediate boss for the first few days there he having been promoted to Department manager. I found over the 34 years I worked at the Met Lab, Grant was a fair boss with the highest integrity. He was a great mentor and was able with his metallurgical training and experience to understand the technical aspects of all the projects in the department. He was also firm in telling you when you made a mistake, but he did it in a respectful way. I always respected his judgment and admired him for the way he managed the lab. During my time at the Lab, I felt like I was part of a metallurgical family. Thank you Grant. Rest in peace.

I too worked with grant during all my years as a metallurgist at Alloys Plant.
He was always kind and respectful, and a great resource for help. A wonderful person!
