Deanna Hanashiro said, “I remember the Yatabe’s and we Kawamoto’s went to visit Auntie Grace at her house. I was around 7 or 8 years old. We kids were in the bedroom playing and there was a small tussle between Greg and David over a Gumby figurine. Auntie Grace had to come and settle the matter as we kids didn’t know what to do.
Uncle Joe always reminded me of Rod Serling.
Deanna continued, "Another time, I can’t remember if Nancy or Darlene was there but I remember Uncle Joe making us pancakes or French toast for breakfast so I guess we must have stayed overnight. I remember during breakfast Uncle Joe had taken a silver lid off something that could be redeemed for something.
I always thought their house on the side of a hill was nice.
