Gladys was one of my Grandma Ruby's best friends. I got to do a couple of road trips back to Nebraska with her . She was always so sweet and fun! I have really great memories of her!!!
Gladys was such a jewel. So enjoyed visiting with her when she was staying with her sister in SD. I remember when our cousin Penny and I stayed with her in Palo Alto. We had a sleepover. Not sure how much she enjoyed two teenagers but we had a ball. She took us to lunch at the Cabana Inn the next day. Also loved spending time with her when she would come to Ventura. She always had a smile
I only met Gladys a couple times, but I've enjoyed learning more about her in order to help write the notice and post her photos. Actually, make that a fraction of her photos: One of the effects of discovering more about Gladys is a renewed desire to travel the world as often as she did. Thanks to those who sent me memories of Gladys and sincere apologies to Lina for misspelling her name.
My Mom Ruby’s best friend & confidant. It was always a great pleasure to spend time with her. So cheerful & gentle. Only wish I could have known her better. 102 years wasn’t long enough. So glad she was able to help Grandma the kids(Nikko & Lhotse) on the road trips to NE. What a great roll model! Gladys & Mom-sweethearts of the rodeo! Miss them both everyday! They will always be with us????
Rest in peace Gladys what a full life. . What a wonderful woman! Dear friend to my mother Midge Kieler. The fun they had with Ruby Merriam and Ann Thomas and what a crew. Hope they are all together now.
I loved it when many of the Thomas clan moved to Palo Alto, CA., because we visited them often. It was such a different world, and much more exciting than SD. Iv'e looked up to Gladys ever since those visits, but I was fortunate to become closer to her in later years, where, she became one of my best friends. I loved her and I"ll miss her dearly
