Oh George, my dearest friend since age 16. We grew up together, explored the world, lived together in two states, traveled cross-country, danced, laughed, and cried… I can’t begin to articulate the pain of losing you. You were a beautiful, brilliant soul, and so deeply loved. These last years you’ve fought an epic battle. I hope you can rest now and be at peace.
It's as if a thread in the weave is broken, every loss feels that way, George is woven in thoughts from decades ago, & the whole cloth starts to unravel. He lived w panache & quiet style when we were just kids--George had taste, learning & reserve. I'll light a candle today for him by the Caravaggio, @ San Luigi of the Frenchies--he'd really HATE that! ("Bennett w 2 t's!!") Miss you GB!
