I am very saddened to learn about George's death in today's RTD.  I worked with George in the VCU School of Medicine.  George assisted me in reviewing sponsored program proposals. He was tireless and had a great sense of humor.  I valued highly his contributions to the School of Medicine.  He will be greatly missed.

George and I both received our PhDs from WVU -- his in 1967, mine in 1973 so we always enjoyed talking "Mountaineer" sports and as well I had the opportunity to play golf with him a number of times (he was much better than I!).  He was always very helpful with grant proposals -- always had a great attitude.  A true friend who will be missed.
