On her 80th birthday, my sister, Gail told me that her new goal was to make it to 84, our mother's age at passing. Gail's 83rd birthday came the day before she died in hospital Covid-19 isolation. Following the style used by our great-aunt, she did make it into her 84th year.
Burial of the cremated remains was in Scotch Plains, NJ in the family plot but there was no graveside service. An online ZOOM.US Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. Officiant will be Patty Bittner. Gail was always a delight. She was like a member of our family. We had Christmas and Easters together. She loved my parents and laughed with us all.She loved my dogs and had visits almost daily from them and my brother-in -law until I moved away. Her love lives on in my heart and always will.

Mrs. Russell was one of the most generous women I have ever known. I loved listening to her stories about her teaching adventures. She was an amazing human being and I was blessed to know her during her time at Manchester.
I would not have met my wife, Michelle, were it not for Gail. I will always cherish the time I spent with her during our morning duty station in the open commons. She was always no nonsense, no sugar coating and she gave great advice. So when she pointed out that Michelle was always at the drink machine every morning when we were there talking and advised me to ask her out, well...
