I was one of Mr. Zepezauer's composition students at M-A in 1962-63.  He was tough because he really wanted us to learn to write properly.  I don't know how he managed, but he read and red-lined all our compositions and then made us rewrite them.  He gave me the skills to write successful grant proposals that brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars.  I wish I could have told tell him.
