Grateful beyond measure to have had you as a teacher at Weston. Brilliant and one of the kindest people I have ever met. Rest in power with all the Angels, Saints, and Martyrs. You are with Samson again! But we are bereft.
So hard to put into words what I received from Francine during a course in 1980. She gave on so many levels, academic, pastoral, spiritual She helped in discovering my vocation to be a teacher of faith and prayer through a project she assigned in which I chose the Cenacle Retreat Center as my focus. Forever grateful!
So grateful for Francine's life! May Somerville know our prayers of condolence. In 1990, when I failed comps, Francine offered to coach me through the summer for a retake, saying, "I'm sure you will do well." We worked together, I passed. Such an advocate and teacher! Thank you, Francine. Rest in Peace.
She was a neighbor up the hill for thirty years. We were not close but shared a connection to a dear friend. How lucky her student were, especially the women, to have had such a brilliant mind and loyal friend on their side against such overwhelming opposition. I always knew Francine was OK when I would see her dog(s) over the decades sitting loyally on her front stoop.
