Dear Johnson and Schroeder families — my sincere condolences on the passing of Eric. We played basketball together a few times at the JCC and realized we were fellow Ohlone dads, and after that would chat when we saw each other on campus. He was intelligent and kind. I’m very sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Mark Towfiq

Dear Carrie,
I'm so sorry for your loss, and at a time of so many transitions and life-disruptions. Eric would have been "the star, to your wandering bark" (to paraphrase Shakespeare) in these tumultuous times. But know that his love and memory will continue to provide you and your family with guidance and support, if you let them.  -- Lisa T.

What a special guy! As a family we've been thinking about Eric a lot and we all send our love particularly to Carrie and the boys. While Eric and I met through work the friendship was more about our families. My daughter is a little bit older than the boys and we would often talk about what we had learned and what would be best for the boys. I know he loved you all very very much. Brad

Dear Carrie, Bradley, and Colson,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how hard this is for you and the boys right now and wish you all strength in your time of grief and on the road ahead to rebuilding a life that's been shaken by the much too early departure of Eric, who was such a kind, generous and wise soul. ~ Winnie

Eric was so clearly a devoted husband, loving and kind father, and all-around mensch who brought light to all who knew him. I'm sorry I never got a chance to experience his wit and grace. But I did benefit from his generosity, for all the freedom for you to travel and pursue your studies and passions that allowed us to reconnect so often over the years. Sending love to you all.  Aaron

Carrie, Bradley, Colson,
I worked with your husband and your dad for 19 years. Eric was a great Engineer with a huge smile and a big heart. He was always challenging us, he made us better.
Eric had a lot of respect towards others, towards our planet. His footprint in our mind and on our big will not be forgotten. Eric you leave too early, you will be missed.

Eric was clearly so loved and so worthy of that love.  I regret that our paths didn't cross when we were in the bay area but clearly he was a wonderful person.  Sending my love.  Chris

Dear Carrie,
Natalie and I send our condolences.  I remember Eric as a dedicated husband and father.  What I think I remember most, though, is his smile.  I cannot picture him any other way.  Love to you and the boys.

Dear Carrie, Colson, and Bradley, What a beautiful tribute today. We enjoyed getting to know Eric in room 10. In all our interactions with him, what struck us was how devoted he was to his family - it was evident at every school event, every time he volunteered, every parent meeting. He was such an amazing dad, and he raised amazing sons. Much love, Helene, Tim, Sarah, Aaron, and Andrew

Dear Carrie, Bradley, and Colson,
I met your Dad and family, when Colson came to my Kindergarten class at Ohlone Elementary School. I really liked your Dad. He was such a genuinely nice, warm hearted man with a great sense of humor. He drove on many field trips and always helped out at school. Today's memorial was beautiful. My sincere condolences. Love, Nancy

Dear Caroline and Family:
I am very sorry for your loss, and will send good thoughts. I just wanted to say what a great positive impact Eric had on me. Through work, I met and talked with Eric just a week before his unfortunate passing. During that one phone call, he invested as much time as was needed to answer all of my questions, and help steer a "newbie".
