Had the pleasure of meeting Elisabeth and seeing her several times after Hans hired me when I first came to AK in 1973. I had my 21st birthday on the Alcan, arrived in Anchorage and Hans hired me 2 weeks later. They were a lovely couple and altho' I certainly knew Hans better I could see that Elisabeth was warm, open, welcoming, very down to earth yet sophisticated. So sorry for your loss.
RIP, Mrs. Wiedmer. I worked for Hans as a civil engineer at RCA Alascom from 1975-78. He was a good boss, a good man, and those were some of the best years of my career. Hans passed away suddenly, at only 60, before he could retire to Vermont. I attended his funeral and then visited with Mrs. Wiedmer, Michael, and others at their home. My condolences to the family.
