Dorothy Madden passed away peacefully in San Jose on January 10, 2018. She was born in Springfield, MA and graduated from St. Mary’s College of Nursing in San Francisco. As a RN, she cared for countless foster children with special needs, ran her own in-home day- care, and was an active participant and volunteer in her local parishes. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling with her husband and family especially to Spain to visit her son. She lived an active life including: playing bridge, golfing, running and going to her ranch and working in the vineyard. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Bill; her children, Lisa (Gerry), Father Jose Maria “Sean,” Colleen (Mark), Sharon (John), Sheila (Keith), Christina and James; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to a Mass to celebrate her life at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 22 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 5111 San Felipe Rd., San Jose.
