I knew Diane personally. The below tribute doesn’t mention her key work on the 1999-2000 NHANES.
Bennett DE, Courval JM, Onorato I, Agerton T, Gibson JD, Lambert L, McQuillan GM, Lewis B, Navin TR, Castro KG. Prevalence of tuberculosis infection in the United States population: the national health and nutrition examination survey, 1999-2000. Am J Respir Crit Care Med. 2008 Feb 1;177(3)
I did not know Diane personally, but I was taken with the beauty of the CDC tribute to her. She sounds like a truly remarkable person and it is clear that the world is a safer, healthier, and far more loving place because of her. No doubt countless people owe their lives and much happiness to Diane. May her memory be a blessing.
