Debbie was my boss, mentor and friend. Her spirit lives on in all she knew and loved I expect. She was a person of great passion, joy and laughter. I wish Debbie and her family complete peace and will imagine she is finally set free to be her whole self again.
“The soul would have no rainbow if the eyes had no tears.” - (Minquass) Proverb
Deb’s eyes no longer filled with tears. Perhaps, it was because what God saw was a soul already filled with rainbows & eyes that had shed enough tears. So, He decided her unshed tears would flow inward & help to sustain her.
Or, perhaps no more tears fell from her eyes because God shouldered her suffering & pain. Perhaps He then filled her soul with more rainbows of remembrances just as she filled each of ours.
Perhaps too, God said, “though she will not have words, I will keep her heart strong so she can continue to share her heart’s music through laughter. She will have sight to see love & light all around her and a warrior spirit to prevent her from becoming a tragic figure even though she was involved in a tragic event.”
Or, perhaps, it was so she could “let go of the life she had planned & accept the one that was waiting for her.” – Joseph Campbell
So with a soul full of rainbows, God made her strong enough to let go.
We join our hearts with all of Deb’s friends & other family members. Hearts filled with love for Deb, our minds with joyous remembrances of shared laughter & souls filled with rainbows placed there just for Deb.
