Lester and I are so sorry for DJ's passing which seemed so premature since he was one of the best athletes we have ever known. We always enjoyed our paddle games with him and our mutual love for skiing in the West. DJ was a hard worker and devoted family man and husband. We were sad to when the family left Boston. Dean reported directly to me at Brinson Partners during its heyday.  It was a time filled with pressure and demands for strict attention to details.  Dean had a way of making his enthusiasm for life override the pressures that we were all feeling.  And Dean never wanted to let me down.  Often, I would ask… Dean, did you do such and such?  And his response would always be … yes.  But the yes could mean one of two things … yes, it’s done, or yes, I will do it right away.  His response always brought a smile to my face.  Dean had such an enthusiasm for life.  I am saddened to know that he passed at such a young age.  My sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends.  Hold onto the many memories of this joyful and generous man.
