I met Daniel at an international camp when I was 11. His unique sense of humor was infectious and we instantly became friends. After that month I never saw him again due to living in different countries but I always hoped we'd run into each other sometime down the road. Hearing about this a while after the fact saddens me and I wish the best for his family.
