Conrad would always, always pick me up emotionally when I got together with him.  He was forever glad to see me and you could tell that he looked forward to our get-togethers by being there on time and by wearing nice clothes.  He was at times a great friend and a big brother who could listen and give pretty solid advice - never judgmentally.  Conrad loved to laugh and share a good joke and we traded quite a few over the years.  I think the biggest thing he taught me was the value of staying connected and from that came the warmth of a long-lasting friendship.  I will never forget him.

During the period 1981 to 1986, it was my pleasure to work with Conrad in the PG&E Personnel Department in San Francisco General Office.. every assignment given him he carried out with distinction—especially when dealing with grieving widows who sought help in understanding where they’re stood. In one instance a widow whose husband had died when salaries were much lower and the company had

I met Conrad in 1973 when I first went to work for PG&E in San Francisco.  Conrad was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. He lawys considered other people and their feelings. He was always there to help who ever needed help with a smile and a kind word. I cannot over express my admiration and affection for him. We are blessed to have known him and to have had him as our co-worker,

Conrad introduced himself the first time I attended Cardiac Rehab at  John Muir Hospital in Concord. He and I became friends from that day on. He was a Good Shepherd in our class and made friends and supported all who attended. He would go out of his way to encourage you or support you. We are so sad that he is gone but smile when we think of him.

Conrad was one of the kindest and most caring men I had the pleasure of working with during my many years at PG&E.  I will always remember him going out of his way on his own time to help the grieving widows of PG&E retirees.  He never said no regardless of the request made.  He was truly one of a kind and will be sorely missed!!

I met Conrad at Cardiac Rehab at John Muir Hospital in Concord. I instantly felt a connection to him. He was always so very caring and helpful. He was indeed our Shepherd and we loved him for it. He always brought water to me when I became out of breath. We will miss his beautiful smile and sense of humor. He truly was loved by all of us.

Conrad and I worked in San Francisco for P G & E.  Every morning we would meet at the coffee shop, then walk over to 245 Market Street in San Francisco.  We got together for social times and when Craig was born in the car/on the way to the hospital, Elsie when over and sat with the sleeping Kelly.  Conrad was a kind and gentle soul. He like people and solve their problems or give advise.

My work years with Conrad were exciting and full of interesting learnings. As a new employee in 1980 I found Conrad so helpful in learning the old and then the new culture at PG&E. He was remarkable in his ability to be helpful to so many different constituents. I will miss my old friends visits when I am in the Bay Area.

   Our friend Conrad

It was about twenty five years ago that I was introduced to Conrad,
I had begun dating Gordon, and he wanted me to meet a friend he had.
It was interesting because this was the first of any family I was to meet,
And so it was that Conrad and Gordon and I met to have something to eat.

Soon after I met the other Batesoles and friends also,
But I realized very soon that Conrad was very special to know.
He was one of those kind people who never caused any grief
Actually he always  was able to bring calm and peaceful relief.

His thoughtfulness amazed me with his gifts so unique;
From stone bunnies, stuffed animals and whimsy he did seek.
His  choices were vases from Gump and another ‘one of a kind,’
Making the recipients feel that we were truly on his mind.

He had a fun filled spirit somewhat like his “Kelly bird.”
Sharing  joy with his sly sense of humor and a cheery word.
He never brought sadness nor sorrow wherever he went,
For his mission on earth often felt as if it were heaven sent.

Sharing Concord Methodist Christmas Eve service for many a year
Was a blessing that I shall always hold so near and dear.
Having Gordon wait for us to walk home after Silent Night,
Made every  Christmas Holy Season begin just right.

‘One of a kind’ was our dear friend Conrad Taylor for sure,
For he had a heart that was truly people oriented and pure.
He has left a piece of his heart with the lucky ones of us,
Who knew this fine man who was truly so honest and just.

As the tears are eager to flow, a smile also brings a glow,
For having known Conrad was a special gift we all know,
Having an Angel in Heaven who knows what we need,
Makes us realize that CONRAD was a great friend indeed.

Conrad and I have been friends for several years.  Turns out that my birthday is June 15, and his was the 18th.  We were the “Gemini Twins” and celebrated many birthdays together, even though I was the “older woman” by three days.  We met through my cousins, Gordon and Margaret Batesole.  We dined together for our celebrations and also enjoyed going to the theatre together.  I  loved his dry sense of humor.  He visited me in Grass Valley for the Fair and celebrations up here.  And we got together when I visited down there.  I am an artist and he always encouraged me.  He bought my artwork to share with his children this last Christmas.  I will miss him so very much and will always remember him when I celebrate my birthday without him.

I first met Conrad when I became a Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse.  He was one of those patients that stood out and will always be remembered.  He was kind, patient and welcoming to all those who attended.  His presence was a gift to us all and he is already greatly missed!

He was one of my friends that I could call a true friend. Very seldom do we find a true friend during our life time. He was a great guy and I will sorrowfully miss him and that wonderful laugh he had. Sorry I could not attend the service for him due to my own health problems. I am 87 years old

Conrad was a true gentleman and one of the most genuine caring people I have been blessed to know. His great smile and marvelous hugs will be greatly missed. God speed, Conrad and keep smiling in Heaven!
