I first met Kay in the early 1970's when she hosted a party for friends and family.  It was shortly after her daughter Barbara married Eric Scharer.  Eric was a former roommate of mine and Barbara had quickly become a valued friend.  I instantly liked Kay as well.  She was the life of the party and always fun to spend time with.  She will be very much missed by all of us.
