Jane came into my life around 1978/1979, that’s when I meet her daughter Donna, who turned out to be one of my best friends.  From that time on, she was like a second mom to me.  I remember early on my mom telling Jane to feel free to keep me in line if she wasn’t around to do it herself.  Later in life, close to my mom passing she also asked her to take care of me, protect me and love me when she was gone.  Jane did all those things as if I was her own daughter.
I like to take credit for introducing Jane to cruising.  My mom and I tried for years to get Jane and Donna to come on a cruise with us.  But they would always say “How can you go to one place a day, you don’t have time to explore”.  But when we finally talked them into going on the Alaska cruise with us, they were hooked.  Jane loved cruising, she brought fun, adventure and excitement to every cruise we went on with her.  Watching the whales swimming next to our ship, swimming with the dolphins, watching the glaciers calving from our balcony, playing bingo or trivia, wondering the ship and getting lost, or gambling the night away, we always had fun.
I mentioned “exploring” above, Jane was an explorer.  She traveled the world, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexica, Alaska, Hawaii, and tons of other State in the US.  I loved to hear the stories of their adventures and mishaps along the way.
Jane loved her family fiercely and was always there for them.  Her daughters where her heart and soul, her grandkids were her pride and joy.
Jane’s favorite season was Christmas, she so loved Christmas.  I never in my entire life known anyone to decorate like she did, well it was Donna who mostly decorated, Jane supervised.  For many years Jane would throw a Christmas party.  She would invite friends, neighbors and co-workers.  The house was decorated to the nines, tons of food and her EGGNOG.  Loved, loved, loved that eggnog.  She made everyone feel welcomed and loved.
Jane was a strong women, a fighter and a warm and loving person.  She helped me through a lot of tough times in my life, including my mom passing and my cancer.  There won’t be a day that passes that I won’t think about her and miss her.
Rest in Peace my dear friend knowing I’ll look after your family as you promised to look after me.

Today would have been my mom’s 77th birthday.  I think about her everyday.  Even though my mom was not a very religious person, she supported me in my faith.  I have great faith that she is with my Lord, watching over all of us whom she loved.  Happy Birthday Mom! I love and miss you very much.

We are coming on my mom's favorite time of year!  Thanksgiving and Christmas were always her favorite.  Sometimes I forget that she is no longer with us, here on earth.  This time of year is always a very emotional time for me.    I know that you are celebrating right along with us.  Happy Thanksgiving Mom!  And a very Merry Christmas!  I love you!

Happy Birthday Mom!   As I grow older, I realize just how important it is to celebrate life everyday, tell those that you love, just how much you love them, and make the most out of each and everyday of your life.  Celebrate life
