As a young man, Bruce was drafted into military service to serve honorably in World War II. When Bruce talked about being at Omaha Beach on DDay, he always said, with tears in his eyes, "I never pulled a body from the ocean that had one grey hair". In April of this year, Bruce, Pat and I went to Omaha Beach -- it was the honor of my life. Bruce will never be forgotten. God bless his soul.
I only met Bruce once, but felt like I had known him all my life after the first couple of minutes. He was an extraordinary, humble, intelligent, and hilarious human being. Thank you for your gift, Bruce. Until we meet again, Rest In Peace.
We only knew Bruce for a very short time. He was a warm & caring person who'd give you the shirt off his back. We'd love to listen to his stories about his rail-roading days and his world travel.
God speed Bruce Bayer. You'll always be in our hearts. When we hear your name we'll smile with Love,Paul/Carol
