I met Blase at the University of Massachusetts in the 1960's. There were weekends when several of us would go to Boston to have dinner at 327 Border Street. We kept in touch over the years, getting together in Boston when I was there for a conference and in Florida for Christmas in 1979. It was always party time when Blase was in the group. Having him as a friend was wonderful.
Blasé was my dissertation chair in 1971-73 at the University of Miami (Fl). He was truly a gentleman and a scholar of the first rank. He ushered me through a rather difficult time in my life with the grace and ease characteristic of his personality. I feel
very blessed that our life paths crossed. May his memory be a blessing and may be Rest In Peace.
