Hello, I realize this is very late condolences but I worked with Bernie at Shugart Associates in 1978 designing SASI/SCSI.  Larry Boucher was also part of our team.  Bernie was my boss.  I was thinking about him just now so Googled him to discover his passing.  Bernie was a kind and gentle person. I remember driving with him in his Mercedes.  My sincerest condolences.
