Avis was such a caring and thoughtful person.I loved her chatty phone calls, made for no reason at all or so she never missed holidays and special times. She and Leland tirelessly visited Mom as she lived out her last days. I thought she stubbornly gave of herself when honestly she seemed to be the one more in need. Her statuesque beauty and grace were equally matched by an almost imposing manner and a wicked tongue! She is the last of a generation that I grew up with now gone forever. Arnold and I will miss her terribly. How grateful I am for all the memories. How lucky I am that she gave me my cousins, Audrey and Lee and their wonderful families. We shall cherish each other all the more and keep on making memories.
