This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, A J "Al" Petras. A generous soul who quietly helped those in need, and publicly championed for civil rights. We will remember him forever.
Al was more than my best friend, he was family to me, as well as my husband and son, serving as best man at our wedding and amazing godfather to our son. As I told people of his untimely death, I heard stories of how he helped those who were struggling. He truly was a generous soul quietly helping those in need, while publicly championing for civil rights. He will be greatly missed!
AJ was a lifelong friend, the kind who would pick up right where you left off, when you haven't seen each other for awhile, the truest kind. His unconditional nature extended to everything he did: truly helping a friend, taking on a just cause, supporting an important organization. His twinkle, humor and force of nature do the right thing are inspiring. We will keep you in our hearts Al.
